The SP016HD is a surge protector for 16 channels that supports AHD/HD-TVI/HDCVI composite video transmitted via coaxial cable (BNC connector). It is a 1U size that can be mounted in a 19-inch rack and allows for the connection of up to 16 video channels. It diverts surges caused by induced lightning and other sources in the transmission cable to ground before reaching the equipment. The surge protector should be installed as close as possible to the equipment that needs protection. When protecting a camera, it should be placed near the camera, and when protecting a monitor or DVR, it should be installed near the monitor/DVR. The basic surge protection strategy is to install protectors on both the camera side and the display device (monitor) side. If the SP016HD is installed on the monitor side, additional SP009 (for one channel) units can be installed on the camera side for each camera wiring.
